This storm was part of the overall storm complex that has enveloped at least half of the United States starting around 1/23/2026, stretching from mid-Texas up through Nebraska, and reaching all the way to the East Coast. 18 - 24 inches of snow was expected from this storm in the Boston area over from 1/25/2026 - 1/27/2026, but the area ended up receiving nearly 3 feet of snow! This is the most significant snowfall event in this area for at least the past 10 years! There are currently piles of snow 5 feet high in the area, and the sidewalks are basically a maze of trenches to navigate through.
The snow for this historic winter storm began around 9 AM Eastern Time (11 AM GMT) 1/25/2026 and got heavier throughout the day, with the heaviest snowfall peaking Sunday night into Monday morning, which was far later than expected. Monday morning remained relatively snow-free, but snowfall began to pick up again Monday afternoon and lasted overnight leaving another 5 or so inches of fresh snow!
Note: this is a re-upload of the video at higher quality. The original upload was very choppy for some reason. Enjoy this high-bitrate re-up!
