This is Shinmei, Akashi City's first Banshu ramen specialty shop!
Banshu ramen is a sweet soy sauce ramen eaten in the northern Harima region. There is no clear definition, but generally, the noodles are thin and curly, and the standard toppings are pork fillets, green onions, bean sprouts, and sheets of nori seaweed.
There are various theories about its origin, such as that it originated in Nishiwaki City or Kato City, but one theory is that it was made sweet to appeal to girls who had just graduated from junior high school and moved to Nishiwaki City for group employment during the heyday of Banshu weaving. Another theory is that girls who came to Nishiwaki City for group employment from Tokushima asked it to be sweeter because they admired Tokushima ramen, or that it had been sweet since before that. No definitive theory is certain.

On the TBS program "Matsuko's Unknown World," Taka Tanaka, bassist for Sunny Day Service, personally selected Takino Ohashi Chuka Soba as one of the most delicious local ramens he had personally discovered, further increasing the popularity of Banshu ramen.

While some people may not like sweet ramen, Shinmei offers just the right amount of sweetness and an exquisite chicken broth.
