Chania is a municipality and city on the Greek island of Crete, also the island's second
largest city and the capital of the region with the same name. The city is located on
the northern coast of Crete, about 70 km from Rethymno and 145 km from Heraklion,
and had about 53,910 inhabitants. The municipality had 108,642 inhabitants.
