**Lichteneck Castle – Between the Vineyards, the Rhine Valley and the Black Forest**

High above the village of Hecklingen in southwestern Germany, the ruins of Lichteneck Castle have overlooked the Rhine Valley for more than 700 years.

Join me on a peaceful 8K 360° aerial journey around this medieval fortress, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, with sweeping views towards the Black Forest, the Kaiserstuhl and the distant Vosges Mountains.

Built in the 13th century by the Counts of Freiburg, Lichteneck once guarded an important trade route and a crossing over the River Elz. Its story came to a dramatic end in April 1675, when French troops besieged the castle, bombarded its walls and eventually set it ablaze.

This immersive VR documentary brings the landscape and its history together through English narration, atmospheric music and carefully designed sound effects. Listen for distant horses, church bells, cannon fire and the crackling flames of the castle's final destruction.

**Look around freely throughout the flight.** The camera orientation remains stable, allowing you to explore the scenery at your own pace without sudden changes in viewing direction.
