Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Destroyer Natori in Sendai Port / 海上自衛隊 護衛艦なとり in 仙台港【宮城県 仙台市 宮城野区 2026年07月11日】

This video shows the *Natori*—the ninth ship in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's *Mogami*-class frigate series—during a public viewing event at Sendai Port.
This frigate is brand new, having just entered service on May 21, 2026.
However, although I described it as "brand new and gleaming," if you look closely at the scene where the camera moves up to the deck, you can actually see rust on the ladder (did you notice it?).
While the *Natori* officially entered service on May 21, 2026, it was named and launched back on June 24, 2024.
The time in between—roughly two years—was spent on outfitting and sea trials.
So, strictly speaking, it isn't entirely "gleaming new" after all.

海上自衛隊のもがみ型護衛艦の9番艦である「なとり」が、仙台港で一般公開されたときの動画です。
この護衛艦は、2026年5月21日に就役したばかりのピカピカの新品です。
「就役したばかりのピカピカ」と説明しましたが、動画の甲板へ登るシーンで「はしご」に サビ が見られます（気付きましたか？）
護衛艦 なとり が就役したのは 2026年5月21日 ですが、命名と進水は 2024年6月24日 です。
約2年間も何をしていたかというと、艤装と海上公試です。
だから正確には「ピカピカ」ではないんですね。
