Stroll through the ancient city

Built during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, Qingping Ancient Market is one of Shenzhen's four largest and best-preserved ancient markets. It is the only riverside ancient market in Guangdong that still features the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 300 years. Historical sites including Yongxing Bridge, Xinqiao Granary and Guang'an Pawnshop are well preserved. There also stand ruins of a rice mill, roadside shops and residential buildings, most of which date back to the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. These architectures constitute an important part of Shenzhen's historical and cultural heritage. Today, it has evolved into a lively cultural and tourism town integrating film and television shooting, art, leisure and cultural tourism, where folk activities and intangible cultural heritage performances are held on a regular basis.
