2024 Tin Hau Festival Procession in Yuen Long (元朗天后寶誕會景巡遊)

Tin Hau Festival, as known as the birthday of goddess of the sea. The Tin Hau Festival Procession held annually on the 23rd day of the third lunar month since 1963, and it is one of the biggest and community-wide events in Yuen Long. During the day, processions set off at Fung Cheung Road, go via Kau Yuk Road and the Yuen Long Stadium, and finally end at Tai Shue Ha Tin Hau Temple , which already has a 300 years history to pray to Tin Hau. After the parade, there will be drawing of Fa Pao (tower of paper art for paying tribute to Tin Hau) and Poon Choi (food served in basins) feast with every Fa Pao’s parties, which usually known as the group of residents from difference walled villages along the Shap Pat Heung in Yuen Long.
