The Canal That Outlived Its Ships — 360° VR guided tour 29/1000 · Bydgoszcz, Poland · captions
Tour 29 of 1000 — a growing series of 360° guided drone tours with open captions.
▶ A guided 360° flight with a guide naming what you fly past. The whole series in order: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPedHeX4WkvkZlvB9cSsp0Q
Kanał Bydgoski lies where the Noteć and the Brda come closest; King Władysław IV Vasa had proposed joining them, and the canal brought back an Ice Age pattern, when the Vistula flowed west to the North Sea. Boats may have passed here long before the canal: an anchor turned up where Grunwaldzka Street runs today, and near Łochowo village the remains of a large ship and a landing stage were dug up. …
— the guide keeps talking in the film —
For deaf and hard of hearing viewers: everything the guide says is also written on screen, on three sides of the horizon, so the text is in front of you whichever way you turn. The words are spoken aloud too, so the film works either way.
