Moraine Lake Alberta | Easy Trail Walk & Stunning Glacial Colors | Travel Vlog 4K
Moraine Lake in Alberta, Canada is one of the most iconic lakes in the Canadian Rockies — and for good reason. In this travel vlog, Nikki and I walk the easy trail along the edge of the lake, starting from the parking area and continuing to the end where a set of rapids mark the trail’s finish.
The turquoise-blue color of Moraine Lake comes from rock flour — fine particles of rock created by grinding glaciers. These particles remain suspended in the meltwater and reflect sunlight, giving the lake its unforgettable shade of blue. Since the water comes entirely from glacier melt, the clarity and color change with the seasons.
This trail is accessible and manageable even for seniors, making it one of the most rewarding easy hikes in Banff National Park. Whether you’re visiting for photography, nature, or relaxation, Moraine Lake is a must-see.
