毕棚沟(Bipenggou)
I. Overview of the scenic area
The Bipenggou Scenic Area is located in Suoluo Gully, Paitou Township, Lixian County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is at the northern foot of Mount Siguniang and is the core area of the giant panda habitat and Miyaluo. It is known as "Little Switzerland in Western Sichuan". Its altitude ranges from 2,015 to 5,922 meters, and the area is 613.8 square kilometers.
II. Natural landscapes
The natural landscapes in the gully are primitive and simple, gathering many astonishing natural sceneries. Here are magnificent glaciers, lofty snow peaks, tranquil lakes, dense virgin forests, gurgling streams, majestic waterfalls, vast alpine meadows, gorgeous red leaves, colorful flower seas, and colorful forests.
III. Main scenic spots
Bipenggou has unique peak landscapes such as Camel Peak, Jade Rabbit Peak, Lion Peak, etc., with different shapes and vivid appearances. The Qinglong Waterfall is majestic, like the Milky Way falling from the sky. Zhuoma Lake has clear water, reflecting the surrounding beautiful scenery. The Moon Bay presents a unique curved beauty.
IV. Scenic area honors
In January 2013, Bipenggou was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area. At the same time, it is also a national-level ecological tourism demonstration area and a provincial-level ecological tourism demonstration area in Sichuan.
