The stunning village of Portmeirion, north Wales, stopping on the way for snacks at a tearoom in Llanrwst, based in a courthouse built in 1485, and a quick look at its stone circle (built in 1953!).Portmeirion's appearance is so scenic and distinctive, it is in almost constant use as a location in films and TV.In the past it has been used in - among other things - Doctor Who, 80s BBC sci-fi show The Tripods, and most notably as the unnamed village in cult 60s show The Prisoner.
