The highlight of the trip is crossing the Barra Bonita Lock—the very first navigation lock built in South America (1970s). Witness the pure power of physics as this "boat elevator" conquers a staggering 26-meter (85-foot) drop—the equivalent of a 10-story building—in roughly 12 minutes.
To keep the journey dynamic, we have used timelapse photography during the river cruising portions, allowing you to experience the entire lock system from arrival to departure in a cinematic timeframe.
