Tongli,China-small town canals

Tongli is an ancient water town in Wujiang District near Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, established during the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE) over 1,000 years ago, originally named Fu Tu ("Fertile Land") before becoming Tongli, renowned as one of China's "Top Six Ancient Towns in Jiangnan" and the "Oriental Venice" for its canal network linking streets, bridges, and Ming-Qing architecture.
