Inside of the Zappeion, Athens, Greece
The Zappeion, also known as Zappeion Megaron, is a large, palatial neoclassical building located in the heart of Athens, Greece, next to the National Gardens. The building was the first in the world constructed specifically for the revival of the Olympic Games in the modern era, funded by Greek philanthropist Evangelos Zappas, who envisioned the rebirth of ancient Greek traditions and the promotion of arts and industry.
