Tutankhamun, sometimes also Tutankhamen, Tutankhamun, Tutenkhamen and Tutenkhamon, birth name Tutankhaton, born about 1341 BC, died 1323 BC, was an Egyptian pharaoh. He belonged to the Eighteenth Dynasty, during the New Kingdom. He is best known for his burial chamber in the Valley of the Kings which Howard Carter discovered in 1922.
