Scotland’s Entire Coastline 360° — S1e6 Rascarrel Bay to St Mary's Isle
This is a 360° video — you control the view. See here if you are not sure how to do this: https://youtu.be/t5Bc2-zRjPg
Look around freely on mobile, desktop, or in a VR headset and explore this stretch of Scotland’s coastline from every angle.
In this episode, the journey takes me into Kirkcudbright Training Area, land owned by the MOD and normally subject to live-firing exercises.
Storm Bram had other ideas.
When I arrive, the red flag is not flying, there is no sentry on duty, and no live firing is taking place. With access clearly open, I walk from the empty sentry post to my launch point, narrating the approach and the history of the area — including a quiet, unexpected moment watching three white swans resting on a pond along the way.
The second half of the film continues the aerial journey from where Season 1, Episode 5 ended — Rascarrel Bay and the Devil’s Bridge — carrying the flight West and then North along this rugged stretch of coastline toward Kirkcudbright and St Mary’s Isle.
The episode closes with a tight, zoomed-in view of Kirkcudbright, drawing land, sea, and settlement together at the edge of the Solway.
As with previous episodes, the flight is accompanied by the haunting voice of Ellie Eastwood, singing of the sea.
