Japan Miyagi Funaoka Castle Ruins Park Cherry Blossoms Festival

unaoka Castle Park in Shibata-cho, Shibata-gun, Miyagi Prefecture is the site of the mansion where the Shibata clan lived until the Meiji Restoration, and is known as one of the Tohoku region's leading cherry blossom viewing spots. There are more than 1,300 cherry trees, and it is the only place in Miyagi Prefecture to be selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan" along with the Shiroishigawa River Bank Hitome Senbonzakura, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023.
