Welcome back to The All-Around Adventurer! Today, we are skipping the rocks of the fossil gorge and diving instead into the peaceful, fully accessible pathways tracking below and around the eastern and western banks of the massive Coralville Dam complex.

📜 History of the Trails:
Both the Tailwater Riverwalk and Veterans Trail are meticulously managed and patrolled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the public recreation lands surrounding Coralville Lake. Established to provide nature access for everyone, these paths are explicitly designed to be completely barrier-free and flat, accommodating wheelchair users, strollers, and able-bodied walkers alike. While the riverwalk highlights the massive civil engineering impact of the 1950s dam control structures on the Iowa River, the nearby Veterans Trail serves as a living memorial, hosting annual dedication ceremonies on Memorial Day to continually honor and remember the service of local military veterans.
