The Aga Khan Palace Built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III was where key figures of the freedom struggle, including Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi, and secretary Mahadev bhai Desai, were interned by the British.
Today it is the final resting place of their ashes and also houses a museum preserving the poignant moments of those turbulent times through photographs, letters, and personal belongings of the freedom fighters.
