Greek Village (Sun City)

The “Greek Village” project near Lake Balaton in Balatonfüred was created in 1994 with the aim of building a Mediterranean-style area — shops, restaurants, and services.

The project failed: funding ran out, businesses didn’t generate the expected profit, and the complex gradually fell into disrepair.

Later, part of the area was converted into an amusement park (“Sun City”), but eventually, the whole site became a ghost town, and the city started planning demolition.
