Hongluo Temple The Twin Ginkgo Trees of a Thousand Years
Hidden in the mountains of Beijing’s Huairou, Hongluo Temple has stood for over 1,600 years. Beside its main hall rise two ancient ginkgo trees, the “Male and Female Ginkgo,” rooted here since the Tang Dynasty. In late autumn, golden leaves fall like light itself, covering steps, red walls, and timeless halls.
