Mt. Taebaek, Cheonje-dan
[Information]
I have finished photographing So-munsubong and Munsubong Peak before reaching Cheonjedan – an unusual sequence. I felt Munsubong's stone piles better showcased Mt. Taebaek national park, hence your choice. It was 11 AM, and thankfully, few hikers were around, allowing you to photograph. I imagined rituals honoring the heavens atop the mountain, even picturing a sacrificed cow hundred years ago. What were the prayers about? Likely, they commemorated ancestral blessings, wished for advancement and recognition, and addressed human fortune and misfortune. This historical site even sees people secretly climbing in the pre-dawn to pray, a surprising encounter. So, what precisely does the interior of Cheonjedan look like?
