Travel through the Hadelner Canal and into the coastal foreland of Northern Germany, where local legend tells of a clever fisherman who once encountered the devil between the water and the dike.
Teufelsbrücke is not a constructed bridge. The name refers to the dangerous stretch of mudflats, tidal channels and salt marsh beyond the modern storm-surge barrier. According to the legend, a fisherman became stranded there as the tide withdrew. To escape, he promised the devil a soul—but returned with a wooden figure carved in his own likeness.
The deception saved his life.
But from that day onward, the water no longer showed his reflection.
Years later, travellers began seeing a pale fisherman wandering through the tidal foreland. Wet footprints appeared across the mud, a black hand rose from the returning water, and a lonely lantern guided the lost away from the deepest channels.
Perhaps the fisherman remains at Teufelsbrücke by choice—not as the devil’s victim, but as its eternal guardian.
This atmospheric 360° VR mystery combines real footage from the Hadelner Canal and the North Sea coast with a fictional supernatural interpretation inspired by regional folklore.
