Our fifth day in Okinawa began at Sakimotobu Green Space Beach, a quiet snorkeling spot with steps leading straight into the sea. Though facilities were limited, we luckily met a local who rented us snorkeling gear from his van. Thanks to him, we explored colorful fish and coral reefs that made the visit unforgettable.

After swimming, we grabbed a comforting bowl of Okinawa soba at a nearby Lawson — a dish I could never get tired of this trip.

In the afternoon, we visited the Nakijin Castle Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former Hokuzan Kingdom capital. Walking past the massive stone walls, we explored sacred areas like the Ōno Courtyard, Uchibaru Ward, Hinukan Shrine, and Shigemajō Ward. The blend of history and sweeping ocean views made the site truly spectacular.
