Day 1. Asakusa.
This was our hotel for our first day in Japan.. Located in Asakusa. It is a 10 minuets leisurely paced walk from the Kaminarimon and Nakamise shopping street.
It is not a modern western hotel. There is no mini fridge or flat screen TV. The wooden floor creaks. The stairs are steep. the toilet doesn't flush itself much less have bidet. You take your shoes off at the front door, sleep on a futon on the tatami floor, and share a old fashion bathroom with 8 other guests. It IS the full Japanese experience in a hotel.
There is a living room down stairs you can brew tea and hang out in. Everyone whispers so it is very quiet. Even the neighborhood it's in is heavy with the traditional Japanese vibe. One of the most unique experience I've had staying in a hotel.
