Pingjiang Road is an old historical street in Suzhou. It is a small road along the river called Pingjiang River. The Pingjiang Road Historic District is the most well-preserved area in the ancient city of Suzhou and can be regarded as a miniature of the ancient city. Comparing the "Pingjiang Map" [1] of the Southern Song Dynasty and the "General Map of Waterways in Suzhou City" of the late Ming Dynasty, Pingjiang Road basically continues the urban layout since the Tang and Song Dynasties and maintains its vitality.
