Situé au cœur du Parc National du Mercantour, le Lac d’Allos (2 228 m d’altitude) est le plus grand lac naturel d’altitude d’Europe. D’origine glaciaire, il abrite une faune remarquable, notamment truites et ombles chevaliers. Ses eaux s’échappent par un passage souterrain naturel vers la source du Chadoulin, affluent du Verdon.

Located in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, the Lac d’Allos (2,228 m above sea level) is the largest natural high-altitude lake in Europe. Formed by glaciers, it shelters a unique ecosystem with trout and char. Its waters flow through a natural underground passage into the Chadoulin River, a tributary of the Verdon.
