Basic Information
Location: It is located by the seaside of Langkawi, Malaysia, near the Kuah Jetty. The address is Persiaran Putera Kuah, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.
Name Origin: "Langkawi" means "reddish - brown eagle" in Malay, so the square is named after it.
Completion Time: It was built in October 1996 with a total investment of over 10 million Malaysian ringgit.
Core Landscape
The Eagle Tower (Dataran Lang) in the center of the square is a new landmark of Langkawi. The tower is 45 meters high, and a reddish - brown eagle statue stands on the top of the tower. The eagle spreads its wings and looks unruly, as if it is about to take off, symbolizing that Langkawi will continue to prosper economically like an eagle spreading its wings.
Surrounding Facilities
There are landscapes such as lakes, fountains, small bridges and corridors in the square, creating a quiet and beautiful atmosphere. There are also shops around, selling souvenirs such as miniature eagle models. Two parks, Legenda Park and Chogm Park, which are adjacent to the square, are connected, and there are trees and flowers in the parks for tourists to visit by the way.
