Historical Origin: Guoxing Temple was first built during the Qianfu period of the Tang Dynasty. According to records, in the 13th year of Kaiyuan, Xin Ziyuan, an official of the imperial court, was impressed by the spirituality of Taimu Mountain and 上奏 requested the construction of a temple, which was approved. However, it is still a mystery why the construction was not started until the Qianfu period. In the 4th year of Chunyou in the Southern Song Dynasty, Guoxing Temple was destroyed by a fire. It was not fully repaired for several hundred years until 1992, when the current temple was built on the hillside next to the ruins.
