DeoVR is committed to making VR a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. That’s why we’ve introduced new Extreme Content Warnings to help protect users who might be sensitive to certain visual effects.

These warnings will now appear on the web beneath videos that could cause discomfort or seizures. There are two types of warnings:

  • Flashing Light Warning: This video contains flashing or stroboscopic lights that might cause discomfort or trigger seizures. Stop viewing immediately if you feel unwell.
  • 🎥 Motion Warning: This video features abrupt camera movements that could lead to dizziness or discomfort. Stop viewing immediately if symptoms occur.

In-App Alerts Coming Soon

We’re taking safety a step further. In a future update of the DeoVR app, users will see a pop-up warning before playback if a video contains these effects. This ensures everyone can make informed decisions about what they watch.

For Creators: Tag Your Content

Creators can now easily tag videos with these warnings during the upload or edit process. If your video includes flashing lights or significant motion, simply check the relevant box to help viewers stay safe.

We believe VR should be immersive, fun, and safe for all. These warnings are just one more way we’re working toward that goal. Enjoy responsibly!
