Quid Sum Miser (“What Shall I, Wretched One, Say?”) is one of the most intimate moments of the Dies Irae sequence. The soprano, mezzo-soprano, and tenor unite in a lyrical trio, expressing humanity’s fear and humility before the Final Judgment in one of Verdi’s most moving passages.
