Kyiv is Ukraine's capital and largest city, traditionally dated to its founding in 482 CE by three brothers Kyi, Shchek, and Khoryv along with their sister Lybid of the Polyanian tribe according to the Primary Chronicle, though archaeological evidence points to settlements from the Late Paleolithic era and a more likely urban formation in the 6th-9th centuries CE.​
