Futian Jing Temple
Futian Jing Temple was built during the reign of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty. Stepping into the temple, one is greeted by a solemn architectural complex. The inscriptions on the left and right side gates, "Non-Dual Gate" and "Samadhi Gate," seem to convey the profoundness of Buddhist teachings to the world.
Passing through the mountain gate, the Bell and Drum Towers stand on either side. When the bell tolls, its melodious rhythm echoes through the temple, dispelling the hustle and bustle of the mundane world.
In the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the amiable smile of Maitreya Buddha contrasts with the imposing presence of the Four Heavenly Kings, whose majesty strikes awe into the heart.
Futian Jing Temple is not only a treasure of architectural art but also a holy land for inheriting Buddhist culture. As a Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara) cultivation site, it centers on Guanyin faith. During important festivals such as the Guanyin Enlightenment Day each year, grand Dharma assemblies are held.
The ginkgo tree over 500 years old on the northeast side of the hall, with its twisted branches and vigorous trunk, has witnessed the temple's vicissitudes and become a living fossil of Futian Jing Temple's history.
During the college entrance examination season, the gate of Futian Jing Temple is crowded with people, where red ribbons tied by parents flutter. Filled with hope, they pray for their children to achieve excellent results, creating a unique scene of warmth and expectation within
