The Ziller Valley (German: Zillertal) is a valley in Tyrol, Austria that is drained by the Ziller River. The Zillertal Valley it lies 40km east of the regional capital Innsbruck and leads south. The Ziller Valley is one of the valley areas in Tyrol most visited by tourists. Its largest settlement is Mayrhofen.Zillertal Valley is considered the cradle of alpine mountaineering, and even today the local farmers continue to use traditional methods to look after their crops and animals.
