The Kiss of Death

The sculpture stands over the grave of the textile entrepreneur Josep Llaudet Soler. It was created in 1930. The epitaph, on the base, contains the following inscription:
“And his young heart can no longer endure;
in his veins the blood comes to a halt and freezes,
and the lost spirit embraces faith.
He falls, feeling the kiss of death.
Amen.”
