Take the train to Port de Soller from Palma
In 1912 the railway line was completed between Palma and Soller and the following year the railway was also completed all the way to Port de Soller. The old antique carriages still roll today and charm thousands of tourists and residents every year.
The train departs from Plaza de España in Palma. The railway is very characteristic and the stretch between Palma and Port de Soller is incredibly beautiful. From Palma you drive through the city, further out into the countryside and soon the climb into the mountains begins. Here you are offered fantastic views of the mountains, the sea and the countryside.
In just seven kilometers, the railway rises 199 meters with a gradient of 23 millimeters, the tracks pass through old arch bridges and thirteen tunnels, the longest a full 3 kilometers.
