Beaumaris Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, UK. It is renowned as the "greatest castle never built" and represents the pinnacle of 13th-century concentric military architecture. Designed by James of St George for King Edward I starting in 1295, it was intended to be the largest and most technically perfect fortress in Edward's "Ring of Iron," featuring near-perfect symmetry and four concentric rings of defence.
