Theme- Ganga Boicho Keno ?

Meaning 'Ganga, why do you keep flowing ?' reffering to the iconic song by Bhupen Hazarika, this year's theme at Kumartuli Park imagines the pandal as a river boat on the sacred river Ganges. The river witnesses silently across centuries the plight of the people along its banks,their suffering, exploitation and gross inequality and acts as a mirror to society which does not hunger for justice.

Durga Puja is a UNESCO recognised cultural event celebrated in the City of Joy, Kolkata. The entire city becomes an elaborate showcase of culture, craftsmanship, artistic vision and multiple art forms, each a unique homage to the Goddess.

This is Virtualism's attempt at virtually capturing the spirit of this festival which transforms our streets and lanes into a city wide carnival.
