From the low-slung seat of a Mazda MX-5 Roadster, I'm capturing the real face of this place: the iconic red Ondo Ohashi Bridge, the towering shipyard cranes of IHI, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force warships at dock, and a submarine quietly breaking the surface — all just part of a normal day here.

This isn't a highlight reel of famous scenic roads.
It's the unfiltered, unadorned reality of a Japanese regional city in spring.
