Before it became the premier entertainment district it is today, Circuit Makati was the site of the Santa Ana Park, a historic horse racing track.

Here are a few quick facts about its history:

The Horse Racing Era: For over 70 years (from 1937 to 2008), it was home to the Philippine Racing Club (PRC). If you’ve ever wondered why the jeepneys in the area still have "PRC" on their signboards, that’s exactly why!

Art Deco Roots: The original racetrack featured beautiful Art Deco grandstands, a popular architectural style back in the 1930s.

The "Santa Ana Cabaret": Even further back in the early 1900s—before the horses took over—the site housed the Santa Ana Cabaret, which was once billed as the largest dance hall in the world and was a major hub for Manila’s high society.

A Karting Interlude: Before the full mall development was completed, a portion of the grounds was also used as a popular kart racing circuit (City Kart Racing), which helped bridge the transition from "racetrack" to the "Circuit" name we use now.
