⏩ Month In Review for the Boston Weather 180° 4k Street Cam Stream (March 2026) [Beta]
It's time for the monthly recap of the weather in Boston!
And this happens to be the very first one!!!
March 2026 had some pretty consistently crazy weather in Boston, along with the rest of the entire United States. The month started off with a snow storm which dumped 18 inches of snow on top of the 3 feet of accumulation from other storms we got in January and February. For the first half of the month, temperatures stayed well below freezing, so there was plenty of snow around basically everywhere... all the time. Sidewalks were surrounded with 4 foot high snow banks which just kind of melted and refroze. 🌨️
During the middle of the month, things began to change. Boston, along with the rest of the US, went through banded cycles of extremely warm weather, followed by extremely cold weather. This caused some severe weather including tornadoes and blizzards, at the same time, for the rest of the US, but Boston managed to avoid most of the severe storms that were happening elsewhere. For a while, this pattern only reenforced the icy crust of the snow banks, and caused them to stick around for the warm weather when it finally arrived. 🧊
The final third of the month saw warm temperatures that were well above average. There was an entire week of 60° and 70° days that finally took down the snow banks in the area. The melt is very rapid, and is fun to watch in the time-lapse. ☀️
