Music through the millennium

Banquet refers to the highly artistic song and dance music that was used to provide entertainment during banquets in the palace from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Song Dynasty. It originates from the continuous accumulation of Han traditional music and the foreign music introduced since the Han and Wei dynasties. It is an inevitable product of music culture based on long-term accumulation and catalyzed by certain political, economic and social conditions.
