Cape Cross Lodge and Seal Colony, Skeleton Coast, Namibia

Cape Cross is one of the few sites in Namibia where something historically connectable to the rest of the world happened. Diogo Cao, a Portugese explorer, landed on the coast and planted a cross here in 1486. Although the crosses shown are only replicas.

Now it is the home of a massive (100,000) seal colony, and a beautiful luxurious lodge.
