One of the principal regions milk is distributed from, Ahiritola celebrates the rich cultural heritate of Bengali sweets which are traditionally milk based as compared to ghee based as in the North of India. With a sweet shop at the entrance, milk cans and earthen pots in which the sweets are sold, dotting the pandal, and the names of famous generational sweetshops, the artists extolls how sweets are more than just a delicacy, becoming an expression of celebration, affection and belonging.

Durga Puja is a UNESCO recognised cultural event celebrated in the City of Joy, Kolkata. The entire city becomes an elaborate showcase of culture, craftsmanship, artistic vision and multiple art forms, each a unique homage to the Goddess.
