🥾 About the Trail:Located in Millwood State Park, the Waterfowl Way Trail is an easy, scenic lollipop loop (roughly 1.5 to 1.8 miles) that hugs the beautiful shoreline of Millwood Lake. This area is a haven for incredible wildlife and unique geological features.
Keep your eyes peeled as you look around the 360° frame for:
🐊 Alligator Sightings: Millwood Lake is one of the few places in Arkansas where alligators thrive! Keep an eye on the coves and the "alligator pock" area along the trail.
🦅 Migratory Waterfowl & Wildlife: A premier birding spot, look up into the canopy and out on the water for various species of birds, as well as active beaver lodges.
🌳 Stunning Flora: Walk past massive bald cypress trees, palmettos, and lush greenbrier.
⏳ The "Prairie Bumps": Look out for these mysterious, rolling mounds of dirt along the forest floor, believed to be formed by ancient colonies of burrowing animals.
🌊 Epic Lake Views: Take in the sweeping views of Millwood Lake and the longest earthen dam in Arkansas.
