Step into the remote beauty of Oregon’s Mickey Hot Springs, captured in immersive 8K 3D 360° VR. Located on the northern edge of the Alvord Desert, this small but striking geothermal area lies within the Basin and Range Province — a landscape shaped by faulting, volcanism, and millennia of hydrothermal activity.
This is our second trip to Mickey Hot Springs, the first was filmed earlier this year in monoscopic 8K, but this time, we returned with a 3D stereoscopic setup to bring you a deeper sense of scale, texture, and presence within this surreal volcanic basin.

🧭 About Mickey Hot Springs: Mickey Hot Springs sits at the northern end of the Alvord Basin, a fault-block valley bordered by the uplifted Steens Mountain. Beneath the surface, groundwater is superheated by residual volcanic heat, creating the boiling mud pots, steaming vents, and vividly colored pools seen here. The site is part of Oregon’s dynamic geothermal system, a reminder that the earth below remains restless and alive.
Though the springs are beautiful, they are extremely hot and unstable — temperatures often exceed 180°F (82°C). Please enjoy them from a safe distance and leave no trace behind.
