Taichung 2nd Market was build during the Japanese colonization of Taiwan over 80 years ago. It was a high end market selling luxury goods. In modern time, the Market was renovated by the city of Taichung to become a traditional market selling groceries and is home to many eateries. Part of the original market was kept. The Market is organized with a hexagonal central building at it's center.
