Llanberis slate museum - the lathe, North Wales, UK

As I said before - they made everything in the workshops of the Dinorwic slate quarry and everything was powered by a huge water wheel and driven by belts. Here you can see a huge lathe and a drill as well as the power transfer system at the top - the rotating wheels and the belt drive for the tools.
