🌿 About the Devonian Fossil Gorge:
In 1993 (and again in 2008), historic floods overtopped the Coralville Lake spillway. The massive rush of water washed away tons of soil and trees in just a matter of days, unexpectedly blasting open the earth to reveal this incredibly preserved, prehistoric ocean floor. Walking here is like taking a step back in time to a period long before the dinosaurs!
