Kiholo Bay - Wainanali'i Lagoon | The Big Island | Antigravity A1 Invisible Drone
Back to Kīholo Bay and the stunning waters of Wainanaliʻi Lagoon on Hawaiʻi’s Big Island, this time filmed with the AntiGravity A1 Invisible Drone. LOOK AT THAT WATER COLOR! Completely real. No color enhancement, no filters, no tricks. The electric blues and crystal-clear turquoise water come from the unique combination of black lava rock, white sand, sunlight, and the incredibly clear Pacific Ocean.
Kīholo Bay is one of the most unique coastal areas on the Kona side of the island, shaped by ancient lava flows from Hualālai volcano. The bay itself was once a royal fishing area used by Hawaiian aliʻi (chiefs), and the surrounding lava fields hold deep cultural and historical significance. Wainanaliʻi Lagoon, often called the “Blue Lagoon,” is famous for its surreal water color and calm protected waters hidden among rugged volcanic terrain.
Local stories and Hawaiian lore are deeply tied to this coastline. Sea turtles, or honu, are commonly seen resting along the shore and are considered symbols of protection, wisdom, and good luck in Hawaiian culture. The contrast between the harsh black lava landscape and the peaceful lagoon makes this area feel almost unreal from the air.
